Surrounded by natural beauty and local charm, guests can swim or fish at the lake, explore Maynooth’s antique shops, or head into Bancroft, known as the “Mineral Capital of Canada,” with artisan boutiques, bakeries, family restaurants, and the famous Kawartha Dairy. From Toronto: Hwy 401 East → 115 North → 7 East → 28 North to Bancroft. (Approx. 3 hours)
From Ottawa/Montreal: Hwy 417/17 to Renfrew → 132 → 41 to Denbigh → 28 to Bancroft. (Approx. 2.5 hours from Ottawa)
From Bancroft (20 min): 62 North for 17 km → left on North Baptiste Lake Road for 8 km (keep left at the split) to fire sign #1787.
Swim, canoe, kayak, or paddleboard on Baptiste Lake; visit Papineau Beach or Lake St. Peter Provincial Park for larger sandy beaches. Explore Maynooth’s antique shops or stargaze by the firepit.
